Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm a full-time digital sports journalist for The Courier  in Ballarat, and RMIT journalism student. Passionate about seeking out good yarns and coffee, not a fan of sitting still

I have a soft-spot for regional journalism, and have been lucky to start my career at a bustling Ballarat newsroom. I've covered everything from country footy-netball to mixed martial arts, and even tried my hand at billiards.

A year of my degree was completed on exchange at the Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole based in Aarhus, Denmark.

During my overseas stint, I travelled across Europe to complete projects - from Kosovo to cover the increasing tensions between Serbian and Albanian communities to Brussels, speaking with members of the European Parliament about Islamophobia in the EU.

I can't wait to see what my future in this industry holds.

'We've come a long way': New win for women's cricket in Ballarat

"There's probably no greater joy for me," Ogilvie said. "Particularly seeing I've loved this sport for so long and seeing girls fall in love with the game as much as I have."Meeting together Saturday night for match reports when all the men meet together, but having those girls come along and debrief the game the night before, and just love talking about cricket - regardless of results, I think the the greatest joy is seeing girls realise that it can be a sport for them.""There were so many peop...

Good call on 'challenging environment' for young umpires

"Obviously you can't please everyone," he said. "When you make a decision out there 50 per cent of people are going to like you, and the other 50 per cent aren't."Look, it's a challenging environment," he said. "Sometimes when it gets cold but most of the time, our umpires are pretty keen to kind of get out there and and participate rain, hail or shine."Usually, it's the leadership of the club that that causes that issue but we're working with all clubs in the league to try and improve the match...

Ten years have passed since Sunbury took to the field to play against Redan in the hours after Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over the Ukraine. Eastern Lions Albert and Maree Rizk were among the 298 passengers who died on board. "It was one of those really highly emotional days," he said.
